Technical Writer (Technical Documentation Specialist)

Your mission

We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer (technical documentation specialist) to join us at Wattstor on an outsourced contract to audit, analyze, and improve the current documentation across our company.
You will work closely with our internal teams to create standardized, high-quality documentation that serves both technical and non-technical audiences.
Our focus lies in software and hardware development within the energy sector, making this a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful, forward-thinking projects.
This role is initially scoped for an audit and document strategy phase, with potential for extended collaboration based on project needs.

Your profile

Responsibilities:

Conduct an internal audit of existing technical and non-technical documentation, assessing quality, consistency, and completeness.
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement in current documentation processes.

Develop a strategy for improving documentation quality and standardization across the company.
Collaborate with internal teams to implement improvements, ensuring the technical and non-technical-level documentation aligns with company standards.
Create templates, guidelines, and processes for future documentation to ensure consistency across all teams.
Provide training or guidance to internal staff on documentation best practices, as needed.

Requirements:

Proven experience in technical documentation, ideally in IT development and energy-related fields.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate existing documentation quality and suggest actionable improvements.
Familiarity with IT development processes and documentation needs in a technical environment.
Knowledge of industry best practices in technical writing, formatting, and documentation tools.
Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Preferably based in Brno, or available for occasional on-site collaboration.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working in or with companies in the energy sector.
Previous experience in creating or standardizing technical documentation processes.
Familiarity with agile development frameworks and tools.
