Technical Architecture Lead

Brno
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

We are looking for an experienced Technical Architecture Lead to help shape and evolve Wattstor's technology landscape across software, systems, and cross-team delivery.

Reporting directly to the CTO, you will work across 6 engineering teams (~20 engineers), connecting architecture, product, and execution. You will define technical direction, translate product needs into scalable solutions, and ensure complex initiatives are delivered effectively across teams. You will lead through technical authority and close partnership with Team Leads.

You will work on meaningful solutions that power Wattstor's energy technology platform and contribute directly to the energy transition. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and communication, ensuring that decisions are not only well designed but also clearly understood, aligned, and successfully delivered across the organisation.

You'll be joining a progressive and motivated environment focused on ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own architecture decisions across systems, services, integrations, and platforms (including system design, data architecture, and API/integration patterns), ensuring consistency and long-term scalability.
  • Define and maintain architecture principles, standards, and reference designs; lead architecture reviews and drive complex solutioning where needed.
  • Drive build-vs-buy decisions and technical debt strategy, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform health.
  • Support the Technology side of the Sprint lifecycle (planning, Product Owner to Team Leads handover, governance, and evaluation), ensuring technical readiness and predictable delivery outcomes.
  • Improve engineering efficiency by evolving processes, workflows, and governance, aligned with Wattstor's quality and security standards.
  • Act as the central point for cross-team technical coordination, aligning dependencies and execution across the 6 engineering teams.
  • Facilitate technical discussions, resolve conflicts, and drive clear, timely decisions; foster strong collaboration with Product and Delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership to Team Leads and engineers, guiding decision-making and execution.
